Capital Investment Programme


Capital Investments in this Company are co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Enterprise Ireland under the Border, Midland and Western Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020.

Our latest Capital investment is part of our Enterprise Ireland Operational Excellence Programme.


To access financial support for business and operational change projects as well as the capability building and capital investment associated with innovation.

The goal is to significantly grow the company over the coming years with  specific focus on sales growth in the Aerospace and technology sector.

Planned investment includes additional Amada CNC Bending and Punching Equipment, Fibre Laser Cutting, upgrade of powder coating paint line, Product Handling equipment, ink jet stamping and upgrade to our ERP system.

Results (To Date):

Byrne Mech have invested in Two Fibre Laser Cutting Equipment, Punch Combination Equipment, Upgrade of existing pre-treatment plant & automation of the painting facility.

Key Manager Appointments

An Operations Manager and A Business Development Engineering Manager have recently been appointed. Both positions have been co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Enterprise Ireland under the Border, Midlands and Western Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020.

The aim is to to strengthen the current team and lead expansion in the Aerospace Sector.

Results: The key managers commenced employment in December 19 and in February 20 and are already leading the operational changes required to achieve AS9100 Accreditation for the Aerospace sector.

The successful Lean Programme undertaken by Byrne-Mech  is now being showcased by Enterprise Ireland.

Afco Systems expands European operations and sales

Farmingdale, N.Y.-based Afco Systems, a manufacturer of racks, cabinets, enclosures, and air containment systems for the data center and telecommunications industry, has expanded its manufacturing and sales capabilities in Europe.

Through a strategic partnership with Byrne-Mech, a precision metal fabricating company based in Galway, Ireland, Afco Systems can increase product availability for its enterprise server and networking cabinets and data center enclosures. Byrne-Mech operates a 100,000-sq.-ft. facility offering comprehensive design and build capabilities.
